132. You're not really given enough about Hamlet's relationship with Horatio or how they interact, sadly. I ship it! (And I'd love some good Hamlet/Ophelia + Hamlet/Horatio fic, where he's torn between the girl, his friend, and his duty.) But there is sadly no way to have that much support for it, canon-ly. JUST IN MY LITTLE BRAIN. *nods*

134. That would probably simply be because other people have different preferences than you when it comes to what makes a guy hot, and what makes someone funny. Don't worry about it too much, they just don't think the same.

Having said that, I totally agree with you. (I also ship him with characters -- well, at least one. Gasp horror I know.) BUT YES HE'S AMAZING sadly even if he was real he would probably give me the same irritated looks he gives Olivia and the singer/dancers in the bar. XD;

151. I kinda have this automatic distaste for people who go "OH NO FANDOM WORKS YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED BLARGH," too, OP. :/ I don't hate the works or the author, really, but I can't totally respect them. Way to put your fictional people over real people and decide that others aren't allowed to have fun.

I totally need to read those books, though.

153. God, the excessive violence and gore and hfkajfhas WILL MAKE ME SO UNCOMFORTABLE/SQUIRMY AUGH. But I still really want to see the first one just for the plot. I'm an English geek and the whole "DEATH/MURDER BY FATAL FLAW!" idea really pings me hard. Do want... but does it have to be so... yeah? XD;;

157. Sorry, but you're being more of a douche than the people who are worried about the state of the fandom, and I think they're being ridiculous. Any time you say "I hope this movie sucks just so that fans will be unhappy!" -- which is, yanno, why there is wank, because people are unhappy -- you're pulling a real asshole maneuver.

159. ... Wow, I'm sorry, but that was severely idiotic and mean of your mom. Seriously? "You can't make music because you're not American!"? What planet is that logic from?

160. I think the thing that people forget (and I would love to see more people mess around with in fic!) is that... yes, Ginny had a crush on Harry's fame before she even met Harry. She was like... what, eight? Nine? What do people really expect? Pretty much any girl would realistically have that response. Just because she started off having a crush on him because of that, doesn't mean that once she did meet him, got to know him more, she couldn't have switched to liking him for him. After all, it could easily be written that she lost interest in him after getting to know him better -- the allure of "omg a legend" wore off, he's just a boy, and while he's a friend she's just not into him anymore -- so why not the other way around? She realizes that he's not a legend, he is just a boy... and she really, really likes that boy?

Sorry to TL;DR, but while the pairing was handled not-so-well in the books, I'm sort of surprised that no one really thinks about things like this, and dismisses their first meeting as all there ever could be to their relationship. AND EXTRA NOTE, THAT PICTURE IS FREAKING ADORABLE. *A* ♥♥♥♥

I think most people in fandom know this, actually. The problem is that it's never shown to happen. Harry and Ginny don't spend time together, the don't have conversations, and they don't seem to have anything in common, until Ginny's character has a makeover in the fifth book.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. I think that, depending on how you interpret the text and Hamlet's character, you could pretty easily defend Hamlet/Horatio as being relatively cannonish. I mean, clearly it's not a realized relationship, but I think there are certainly pieces of the text which you could construe to implying something more than merely friendly affection between Hamlet and Horatio. If you look at the people who Hamlet shows affection towards, it's not his mother, and it's certainly not Ophelia (I don't care what he says at the end, I don't think he ever really loved her); It's Horatio. Hamlet is kind and sweet and trusting with only Horatio in the whole play. "He who thou knowest thine"? That's just about the most, "I'm yours" way to sign a letter ever. Hamlet trusts Horatio with all his secrets and plans... I've always thought there was some textual evidence for Hamlet/Horatio.
Especially if you've ever seen it played where Hamlet and Horatio are really close friends and peers (as opposed to not really knowing each other well from the start, or where Horatio is more like an older school tutor who knows Hamlet), there's a really nice tension there.
