There were lots of people young enough to be my kids (I’ll be 37 shortly) at the protest I attended today. A couple of them had signs saying various things people could do to help, including voting. I think a lot of the “put those motherfuckers against the wall” people only post online and not only don’t vote, but also don’t march, call reps, volunteer their time and effort, or donate money, because they’re waiting for the revolution to do anything, and they can fantasize about the revolution and not worry about helping people in any tangible way.

They’re stupid. Voting is another tool in the toolbox, and not a panacea, especially with so many republicans trying to take it away from anyone who disagrees with them. But refusing to vote because it won’t change anything is the only way to ensure it won’t change anything, in the same way that not feeding the hungry ensures that they’ll starve.

Oh I point that out but blah blah corruption and tyrants, only revolution left--

It's a specific subset but I'm fucking sick of them

AYRT—I’ve never met one in person, partly because of the online armchair revolutionary thing, I think, but also because I suspect a lot of them are actually bots and trolls. Even the actual hardcore Bernie stans I know are planning to vote for Biden in the general.

I posted this above, but there are definitely a lot of bots/people from other countries trying to stir things up, and create division and apathy. They did it last time and they're doing it again this time. Then of course there are always the trolls doing the same thing for their own amusement.

I am/was a Bernie supporter (voted for him in the 2016 primary and Hillary in the general and would've voted for him in this primary if he hadn't dropped out before my state's primary) and still much prefer his policies, but I'm voting for Biden this time, and all the Bernie supporters I know feel the same way. This election is literally life and death for a lot of people, and we can't afford to not vote. No, Biden is not ideal to me personally, and I'm hoping there will be someone much more progressive I can vote for in four years, but voting for him is honestly the only moral choice at this point.

This is me, although this time around I was more of a Warren supporter than a Bernie one. But I don't much like Biden at all. Will still vote for him, though. This election is life or death. All the people I know who are are Bernie supporters, even the ones who voted for a third party last time, are voting for Biden this time. They understand how important this election is and just how bad another Trump presidency would be.
