When my summer camp had a square-dancing night, there was a genuine scramble and barter system set up, by teenagers of all genders, for the limited number of swishy skirts that people had thought to pack, because dancing in a swishy skirt is the BEST.

SA: There's a pretty obvious double-standard when it comes to masculine vs. feminine euphoria going on here. Few will begrudge a dapper butch the feeling of wearing a well-cut suit (with pockets!) for the first time.
