You need to do multiple things at once and not wait for a revolution that isn't fucking coming. Voting and protests are all we fucking have until then. Small steps are still fucking steps, and sometimes all we can do.

No I'll continue since, as I suspected, you don't actually understand what I said. You're identity is almost completely irrelevant as to whether the party with some type of power is committed to attracting people who can vote AND committed to making it possible for all of their base to vote. The two things are inextricably connected, and it is 100% their fault as the people with political power that you have kids who would rather have revolution.
If you believe that that's all you can do, then that's all you can do. But frankly that's not all everyone can do. Most, if not all, systemic change happened with violent threat and there have been literally no "small steps" that haven't been completely abrogated and walked back. that's history, i don't know what to tell you.

Shut the fuck up and grab a gun if you want revolution so bad, go be the martyr to start it all. You won't, though, because you know it won't happen.

(Anonymous) 2020-06-14 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)I'm sorry that you're living in the parallel universe where only cishet people of the same race and religion can marry and women don't own property and can't hold any job other than secretary or elementary school teacher. I'd invite you to this universe, (which still sucks but girls can play professional soccer, ASL is taught in schools and there are entire programs dedicated to teaching autistic kids to work within their abilities instead of only teaching the ones who can pass and hiding the others), but you're pretty much consistently awful and I don't want you here.

BTW, it's hilarious that you suggested I'm "talking over" someone's experience without knowing what mine is and that's exactly why I think the experience is irrelevant without knowing what the fuck is actually happening. sorry I didn't play dueling marginalizations for your satisfaction
