That's one of the things I loved about She-Ra and Orphan Black; in both cases it really seemed like their default viewer was female and queer as opposed to a straight dude's idea of lesbians. Black Sails (if you pretend the first season didn't happen) and Deadwood are my other favourite examples, although less female-gaze and more these are just women who happen to be badass and queer portrayed in exactly the same way as het relationships.
