I haven't watched Doctor Who or been around the fandom since 2012, so maybe my frustrations are outdated and I'm just an old lady yelling at the clouds, but I couldn't stand that Rose was the fandom's favorite. Rose was so bland. At best, she felt like an audience surrogate, at worst a self-insert. Girl had no personality beyond is into the doctor and likes adventures.
