I no longer play any games that don't offer character creation

For a second, I thought this secret was going to be about the Creatable World dolls. Those dolls are so fun.

Anyway, most of the video games I play are visual novels and those all tend to have the characters premade. Having to create one's own character is fun though and I'd get why you'd prefer to play those types of games instead.

SIMSSSSSSSS

I really like having that creative option as well, tbh. That was at least half the fun of playing. The character would often be the ideal version of me.

Yesssss!

I play lots of games that don't have character creation, but 95% of those are games that don't have a player character, so... yeah, I love character creation. I'm the type who downloads endless mods so I can give my character more appealing eyebrows.
[Also if there's any sort of roleplaying aspect to a game, it just does not work for me if I can't customise the character - I just can't get into the right headspace]

Big same! Eyebrow mods are always a necessity.

Meh, I prefer games with a solid story.

Those tend to have pre-made characters. Ones where you puppet a vague hero through the motions always fall a little flat to me. Unless it's an online game, anyway.

I can let character creation slide for say ... Red Dead Online, but I'm glad we have proper pre-made characters in RDR2, for example.

I don't need too much story (more of a faster-paced gameplay person), but I feel like if there's going to be any plot at all, a pre-made character with their own existing problems is more interesting to me, too.

I hate it when a game tries to slot your character in their world and pretend "I" (the character I finished creating 3 seconds ago) was always part of it when I know next to nothing. I don't feel immersed, I just feel lost.

I'm not into video games but I like the concept of character creation.

God, same. I'm not sure I ever WAS much into games with pre-defined characters, though. I am 100% here for what amounts to technologically advanced playing dolls, where I get to form my own characters and emergent story from a vague pre-defined concept.

This is why I'm stuck in an endless loop of recycling Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age until I die or until the world ends, whichever comes first.
