I have to disagree.

Rodney is fine the way he is, as shown by his legion of fans. She does NOT have to change him, and she should not try.

I do agree that 'uberKeller' has come on too strong and too fast, and this is why I detest her character.

Well I tend to think that some of his fans have a tendency to soften his rough edges. As in they don't really acknowledge that he can sometimes be offensive to other people because of how arrogant and obnoxious he can be.

Either that or they're so caught up in the idea that he has low self esteem and insecurity issues that they forget that it doesn't actually give him the right to steamroll over other people's feelings or that other people's feeling are somehow less important than his.

Rodney's fans are well aware of his faults, but his virtues far surpass them. He has earned the right to be himself, and I for one am tired of hearing about what a terrible person he is, or how terribly he treats others. Apparently, we are not watching the same show.

Where the fuck did I say I thought he was a terrible person or that he treats others terribly? All I said was that at times his personality can be a bit offensive. That doesn't mean I hate him or think he's a bad person.

You don't like Rodney/Hewlett/his fans. WE GET IT. The funny thing is that you can't see that your obsessiveness about this has the other supposedly 'obsessive' fangirls beat.

Let it go. Crack a smile. Move on.

Actually you've got it wrong. I DO love Rodney and Hewlett - I'm just not so obsessed with the character that I totally ignore his faults to the point of acting like other characters don't the right to be upset with him for being an ass.

I think my big problem with McKeller is that it gets close to working - it works just well enough that I know it will end in one of those obnoxious, long term, naggy relationships in which she's always angry at him for loving his work more than he loves her, and he's always angry at her for insisting that he change.

That said, John is the only person who seems to like Rodney as RODNEY, and not who he/she thinks they can turn Rodney into...

I don't dislike Keller, but they have been trying WAY to herd to make her part of the team,to make us think of her as a central character, and, previously, the chemistry of the central characters has been so easy and organic.
