That said, I actually find this pairing kind of cute -- I think of her as being more supportive than trying to "change" him. The man needs a bit of social help.

THANK YOU! I'm so tired of Rodney fans thinking that he doesn't need to be changed at all. He actually could do with some minor changing so he's not so abrasive to others. All she was really trying to do in Brainstorm was to keep him from making so much of a scene - no matter how much he yelled no one was going to believe him so there wasn't a point in trying to yell out that it was his idea.

The only problem with Keller is that she's been shoved into so many episodes it looks like she's just shoving her way into Rodney's life. Which as more to do with the writing than anything else.

The whole episode was kinda unfortunate in my eyes. Not that the story wasn't good, but the fact that it was just the two of them with none of the other characters after several episodes that devoted an inordinate amount of time to them. I'm already sold on Rodney's genius, he proves it pretty much every episode. It does nothing to forward the Wraith arc, or any of the other subarcs, it doesn't have anything to do with Atlantis. It comes off as a vanity episode for the two of them, which would be okay if the others got vanity episodes, but they haven't, meanwhile Rodney has gotten several lately.

I love Rodney, he's by far my favorite character, but like everything else, he's best when he's not handed the episode on a plate.

I actually agree with you completely - Brainstorm really didn't do anyone any favors and the writers have definitely gone too far with the Rodney love at the expense of other characters.
