Yaaay! I've only known about Nightwish for a year or so, I found "Once" buried in my friend's mega-merged MP3 collection, and him and I both listened to "Wish I Had An Angel" within a week or two of eachother.

Anette's more amusing to watch, she seems more animated than Tarja was, at least in the music videos.

(I still don't know enough about their personalities to attempt to read fic. :( And that stuff is tough to find, even if I did want to read!)

LOL For some reason I had a very, very wierd idea pop into my head about Tuomas giving Tony Kakko a makeover. I have NO idea how it happened, but there's like poorly drawn chibi/thumbnails in a notebook for a little comic. (maybe it was reading like kakko_daily or something lol) A yellow skiing jacket?!! ROFLOL "Questionable fashion sense" indeed! He's still awesome though.

Yeah, Tarja was awful on stage at the beginning. She got a bit better later on, but still looked like she didn't quite know how to act. Anette is a lot more natural.

Most of the fics I've seen are in Finnish. It always bothers me when someone writes Marco's speech in a way that doesn't sound like him. ^_^' It probably wouldn't be as bad if it was in English. The others don't bother me as much, except when Tuomas is made into a weepy uke.

I've seen one or two clips of Tarja on Youtube. :( She can sing but she's lacking stage presence and excitement.

I'm not sure how Marco talks, I've not heard his voice (outside from singing). Hey, it might be better. LOL at "when Tuomas is made into a weepy uke." He doesn't come across as that, definately not! (And I hate when people try to box non-anime people into anime-stereotype roles!)

It might! I've been sick so I haven't been able to work on it... its gonna take awhile. :(

It was horrible in the beginning. She was not into heavy music etc herself, but felt that she needed to act right on stage or something, so she'd sometimes most on stage, which looked really not natural with the rigid posture and stuff.

He's got the most brilliant speaks between songs on Tarot (http://www.wingsofdarkness.net) gigs! If you ever have a chance to see them live, do so. The music is good, too. ;) I don't think that he speaks much on Nightwish gigs, though. I've met him a couple of times, but I can't say anything about his speech then because meeting him seems to reduce my brain activity to the level of "gig good. take pic?" XD

BTW, Tuomas' lyrics have some fun stuff. Are you familiar with Hobb's Fool's Fate? It's one of Tuomas' fave books and the line in Nemo about revealing his true name always makes me think of it. I wrote a really cheesy Marco/Tuomas fic about it, but it's not posted anywhere. In the book the Fool tells Fitz how in his culture it is traditional for lovers to call each other by the other's name. He's got also other lyrics pointing to fantasy books, e.g. Dragonlance in several songs. I totally ship Raistlin/Dalamar (Raistlin is Dalamar's master, his shalafi) and Tuomas even looks a bit like Dalamar, so Wishmaster doesn't at least hurt my shipping him and Marco. Especially because I remember that when Marco joined the band, Tuomas said in an interview something about how amazing it was to get him in the band or something; he managed to sound a little fanboyish. XD

I will have to check them out if I have the chance to. (I live in a really tiny town and none of these bands come close to touring near it! :( ) LOL I think I'd be reduced to speechlessness if I got that lucky to meet them. Lots of speechlessness and blushing, and really lame nervous giggling.

I've written so many horrible fics that I end up deleting them for they are THAT embarrassing! (Not with Nightwish, with Sasuke and Naruto lol)

Nah, I haven't read alot of books lately (short attention span sucks!)... I should look into them sometime when I need a good read (if I feel like dealing with the local library, that sucks up alot of energy lol). (BTW, My favorite line in "Nemo" is "for hope I'd give my everything", it really hit close to home for me.)

Tarot used to pretty much tour only in Kuopio and Helsinki for many years, so I had an 8 years long break without seeing them live. In the last couple of years they've played several gigs here in Oulu, though, and are coming again in February! :) Probably thanks to Marco being in Nightwish - it's brought some much deserved publicity to Tarot, too. I've seen Nightwish live only twice - once in '99 or so (before Marco joined) at festivals, and last December here in Oulu. Anette was lovely live. :) I haven't seen Sonata Arctica live for years; the last time I did, I still knew Tony well enough that we were going to a pub in the same company, so that must have been in 2001 or so. I haven't spoken to him in years. I saw them live many times in Kemi & Tornio, though, since they are from Kemi and I used to live in Tornio. Both are pretty small places and about 30km apart.

It's fun to write them, though! :)

Someone does! Any fanart with Nightwish would be fun! I need to learn how to draw goatees and beards on anime-style faces... that's something I can't really do. I've been hunting down reference pics so I can do something. (It's gonna take forever, I have to borrow my friend's scanner to scan in my pics, agh!) Maybe something will come to my brain... a good idea... something... :)

I tend to use Marco as a base to judge everyone else's voice. XD I love the diversity in it; he can sing both more clearly and prettily, yet also has that rough edge I love. The reason why I don't really listen to Sonata Arctica anymore is that while I think that Tony has a beautiful voice, it lacks the rough edge I love. Plus the music is too fast. XD Well, at least they don't have the back metal bass drum thing going on; it always makes me nauseous. Once I went to see some gig with Thyrane (one of the few black metal bands I sort of like, now no longer active), Sethery and some other band. During one of the gigs (not Thyrane) I had to leave the place and go stand outside in the freezing weather for a while because the drum made me feel so sick. I got the same reaction during Swallow the Sun at a festival, I think, and Helloween's bright blinking lights always make me sick, too, plus they play too loud. Luckily, they are the exceptions; on most gigs I have no problems.

Well, I went to this media school where many of the students had bands. For instance, The Black League's Sir Luttinen was there and made the Winter Winds Sing music video as his final work. The guy behind the camera for it also filmed their Rex Talionis video. It was from a gig where I was in the front row, so you can see me pretty clearly at one point. XD I originally went to that school for a break before going to university, but ended up staying the full three years because I had so much fun. XD I met Tony when I started the TV section and was put in the culture group. I wondered what the hell can we make a culture program about in a tiny place like Tornio; then someone in the group remembered that Sonata Arctica has a gig in Tornio and one of the guys go to our school, so I hunted him down. He agreed to the program and we shot a part of the gig and interviewed him and Jani, I think. The program was absolutely horrible - the first time any of us worked with video - but we had fun while making it. XD It was also the first time I heard Sonata, as Ecliptica was just out and I went to listen to it at the local music shop to get ideas for the questions and ended up buying it. XD

I loved going to clubs to dance when I was about 18-19. I usually went every weekend with two friends of mine; we went in early enough that the entrance was free and usually drank only one drink if even that, so it was really all about dancing. In 2000 I started dating a metal guy who liked to go to gigs and to Woodoo club in Oulu, so we made trips to Oulu every few weekends to go there. We also often sat in a pub in Kemi and I was really bored because I knew no one there and he always ditched me, so Avather from Thyrane usually kept me company (and his girlfriend thought I was hitting on him when I was just happy for the company!) After I moved to Oulu, I often went to Woodoo, and after it closed down to Loop that opened in its place. After Loop closed down I haven't really gone to other clubs/pubs unless there's a gig there. I don't like the new metal place, Hevimesta. So, nowadays the easiest place to spot me is Teatria where all the good gigs are (a couple of times a year). XD I'm more of a home dweller nowadays, too.

Yeah, sure! I just cleaned mine of some people I never talk with, so there's some room at the moment. :)

I've been listening to alot of stuff over the past few days, and Marco IS probably the best male metal voice out there now. I definately agree with you, he's awesome. (lol I saw a clip of Tarot from back in the 80's... Marco definately looks better with the beard! Same great voice tho!)
Sonata is pretty fast, I didn't really notice it till you mentioned that.
Man that sucks.... I had another friend who certain guitar chords would make her queasy, same kinda thing. I have to be careful of flashing lights as well, its no fun.

Wow that sounds cool. (I've never done any video production type stuff, just graphic design/multimedia/art sort of things, I was really into webdesign as a teenager). (Forgive me for my lack of words here, I'm just in awe.)

Oh, that's cool. I never really had alot of friends who were into that stuff (my friends were the nerds and geeks),I went to a club once, and it was a gay club (I was like, 18 or 19)! (Went with a gay friend of mine at the time.) That's so cool though, they have metal clubs. (There's NOTHING in the tiny town I live in... I think I'm probably the only person here who likes this stuff!) I hate being at home, I'm hoping to get a job soon so I can get out of the house a little. Maybe someday I'll get lucky and be able to make a road trip, or something. :)
