Secret makers mining thread

The usual drill

I'very emotionally evolved beyond my WIPs for my small fandom. The only reason I'm determined to finish them is because currently there is no slash fic for any pairing - so I wrote a story for every possible pairing. I really want to finish and post them damn it.

I much prefer 2010: The Year We Make Contact as a movie than 2001:A Space Odyssey. I get art in movies. But when your art gets in the way of telling a coherent story, I personally think you've missed the mark. As a fan of the books, 2010 is a better adaption. The story is more interesting even on its own. Sure, 2001 looks pretty, but that's all it is, and that to me is never enough.

While rewatching Cardcaptor Sakura on Netflix, I remembered a really bizarre idea I had when I was a kid. For some reason, I was absolutely certain that Sakura, Tomoyo, and Syaoran were Kit, Ruthie, and Stirling from the American Girl books in an alternate dimension. I have no idea how I came up with this theory and it makes absolutely zero sense, but I remember writing these really long manifestos on why it had to be true.

lmao this wild. how did you even?

I was always just confused about Sakura and her teacher? Or what the fuck was going on? Because those dubs/edits always...made things more confusing. But I was a kid, and only member feeling confused, not having the exact why about it.

I love the theme song tho <3

The theme song for the dub was dope, even if the dub was pretty weird. So many things were cut out or changed. I am glad they cut out Sakura’s friend being in love with the teacher though. Creepy! And I have no idea where that idea came from. I wish I still had my notebooks from elementary school because I know I wrote the theories down, but I’m sure I threw them out at the end of the school year.

A little girl having a crush on her teacher isn't creepy, it's normal. The manga was creepy because the teacher loved her back and proposed to her. The anime cut that and made it one-sided, and the dub cut even the girl's crush because they were prudes just like fandom is now.

I haven't started watching on netflix yet and only saw a handful of sub episodes that I had on DVD as a kid...I didn't realize they took that out in the anime. NGL I love the look on peoples' faces when tell them about CCS and add "Oh and there's a 4th grader in a relationship with the teacher".

There is also that part where Sakura has a crush on her female teacher and Syaoran hates her, and they both have crushes on Sakura's brother's friend, but it's just because magic people can feel each other and it manifests differently.
