My problem is that she DID write another book - it was just those lousy books about the painters and their chiaroscuro technique and painting reality... but no one liked them, and apparently there were shit-fits thrown and fights with the publisher and major clinical depression, and yeah. I totally sympathize with the depression, but I remember reading The Golden Key and thinking "What is this drivel? Where's The Captal's Tower?"

I have a background in art and actually liked The Golden Key, but what really made me angry was those awful modern witch books she did once she "returned" to writing. They were SO bad, and one of them was half raging against politics - which, fine, it was the GWB years, I was also mad, but get a blog or something, lady.

And the series after that, while a return to more traditional fantasy, was pretty boring. I finally gave up on her somewhere in there.
