Today’s been good. It’s my sister’s birthday, so I’m eating ice cream cake and just chilling with my family.

Awful and I'm not totally sure why. I didn't sleep well last night, had a job interview at 8AM which always takes it out of me a bit, and then got a rejection email from another job right after I was finishing the interview and starting work, and then from there on I have just felt aggressively, monumentally shitty and horrible and bad all day long. Just a completely ugh day.

Went to work to do more logistics crap. Still very confusing. But it means I won't have to into tomorrow.

I am trying to figure out how to rearrange my room so it doesn't feel so cluttered.

Got a message saying I didn't get the job. She said I was her second choice and she originally was going to hire me, but she ended up interviewing someone with a lot more experience in the areas of law she practices. So back to the drawing board.

Also spent 3 hours at my allergist doing allergy testing, getting stuck with needles.

And I have a migraine.

And got into an argument with my mom because she wants me to give my cat these oral drops her vet friend recommended for de-stressing. Except they are homeopathic. And my cat hates medicine, and when I put her flea med on her back monthly she reacts badly and stresses and hates me. I'm willing to do that for something she needs, but not for fricking homeopathy. Maybe it is harmless in theory, but it would not be harmless for my cat and would add to her stress.

So that's how my day was.

More house cleaning. I got new kitchen mats since the old ones had rubbery bottoms that fell apart and made the floor kinda icky. So I sat on the floor and scrubbed the hell out of it while listening to 311. Everything looks great now and I ordered a cute kitchen witch from etsy to complete the room.

Decent so far. I'm back to basically staying up all night and then sleeping most of the day, so I've only been up for a few hours. I texted back and forth with my mom for awhile, and spent some time online/played a couple games.

Also catching up on some TV and flailing over my latest ship ("I love you"/"I love you more" was an actual exchange between supposedly platonic male friends, like, come on).

I need to get my grocery list together tonight because I think I'm going to go shopping in the morning, and I also need to do some laundry.

i started my period 4 days early, yay for getting it out of the way, but man am i glad i wore a light pad to bed the night before because i was not expecting to see that in the bathroom when i woke up today.

otherwise i haven't done much bar eat some garbage-food, watch some dumb TV, and add some more to a long-ass fic i've been working on for 2 years.

Not bad. It's hot here but there's a breeze so I sat and read on my patio. I refilled the bird feeder, put fresh water in the birdbath, and put out some corn/peanut/sunflower seed mix on the ground for the crows, jays, and squirrels. A jay was the first to discover the peanuts (their favorites) and I noticed that when they pick up a peanut, they shake it to make sure it's not an empty shell! I guess they've been burned before, haha. I ordered Mexican food for dinner (bacon and egg burrito and a side of fried plantains with a couple of Coronas), it was delicious and I especially love the plantains. Then I ordered my edibles, an eighth of Alien OG (Indica strain that's bomb af), and a pack of prerolls and they were delivered about an hour ago. Currently waiting for the sun to go down so I can go back out on the patio, smoke a bowl, and listen to some music. Not a bad day.

Worked, but it was mostly okay aside from an uncharacteristically rude person I had to deal with on the phone. I was annoyed but more disappointed by the fact that there were people like this at my company since everyone here has been nothing but gracious and kind for so many years, in all departments. But I guess you can't all have good eggs.

My co-worker was sweet though, and we were commiserating about stress and other stuff, so not a terrible day overall. Still, I'm looking forward to getting all my work done and finally getting some rest toward the end of the month.

Tag Etiquette

Inspired by #5, inviting any topics related to tags or tagging in fandom.

Here's mine: I'm trying to decide whether to tag certain characters in my fic. I know better than to tag the ones with like 3 lines, but what about the character that shows up in 4/10 parts? What about the one that carries three sections, but then disappears for the more important latter half? What about the one that only shows up twice, but is integral to the plot? I could tag none of them and just keep to the main ship, but I'm also somewhat proud of the way I wrote some other characters...tagging is hard. ;_;

Honestly this issue is why I never search by character unless I'm happy to read things they just show up in. Because I know how hard it is for authors to decide who to tag. I have that issue myself when I write.

I guess the questions are, if someone is specifically looking for fic featuring this character, would they want to read this fic? If somebody was specifically trying to avoid fic featuring this character, would they object to reading this fic? Obviously there's grey area in there but I think I would lean on the side of tagging it if you think that the way you wrote those characters is a particular part of the attraction of the fic.

i tend to only tag characters who turn up in any significant capacity, so they have more than a few speaking lines and are actually doing something more than existing as window dressing.

not saying this is how you should do it, it's just how i do to make tagging easier on myself bc it is super annoying to figure it out a lot of the time.

It's easy, add past or background to your minor pairings tags.

I only tag main pairing (if there is one), major no no's (like character death, rape, gore, etc that people want to skip).
