I feel you, OP. One of my coping-with-2020 fandoms has a couple big canon ships for Character A-- A/B, sweet and supportive with each other 99% of the time but plagued by outside problems. A/C, constantly unhappy when together, super toxic, but guess who keep getting pushed together...

I'm just lucky the fandom prefers the one that doesn't upset me.

Oh man, are you me? Because I have the exact same problem in one of my fandoms too. A/B is shown to be sweet and supportive of each other in canon, they're two characters who clearly care a great deal about each other and show it. A/C is a canonical abuser with a character who has been abused in canon, so it hits my squick buttons BIG TIME.

For some reason, A/B barely exists but everyone seems to love A/C and I hate it.
