Fandoms that made you into a multishipper?

(Anonymous) 2020-06-22 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
OR Fandoms where you enjoyed/consumed content on every combination of ships?

For me it was Naruto - especially with Gaara or Naruto being a fandom bicycle in my tastes.

Lol Mine was Naruto too. I shipped Naruto with almost everybody.

I think mine was probably Naruto too... I read a lot of fan fic and was just like, "I like all of these"?

Harry Potter --

Hermione Granger was my fandom bicycle.

I think it's really the only fandom where I am cool with one character being with so many others.
All my other fandoms, I am partial to particular ships.

Probably Supernatural. Castiel was my first fandom bicycle.

After that one, I have a fandom bicycle in basically every fandom since. John Watson, Stiles Stilinski, Captain America, Charles Xavier.

I have never been a multishipper or had a fandom bicycle. For me, fandom is OTP or go home.

(Which I say not to derail the thread or to imply the question is any less valid, but because I think "never/none" is also a valid answer to this question.)

I sometimes start out having that fandom bicycle, but then inevitably end up liking one ship more than any of the others and slowly transform back into my final form of a single ship supporter. Unfortunate cause I'll start out being able to enjoy any type of fanwork and after limiting myself again I have to remove people I followed, but what can you do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Criminal Minds". Just way too much awesome chemistry between the characters and so many great pairing options.

Most of them, to be honest. I do have a few OTPs, mostly in fandoms where the canon is often focused on two particular characters, but my usual approach to shipping is picking one or two characters as fandom bicycles and pair them with everybody else.

My most common bicycles are Harry Potter, Tony Stark, Darcy Lewis, Jim Kirk (AOS), Stiles Stilinski, Sansa Stark, and Kurt Hummel.

I also have this thing where I'll take my OTPs and use that couple as a fandom bicycle too sometimes.

Final Fantasy VII. I ship such a ridiculous number of things in this fandom because everyone has such great chemistry with everyone else.

Cloud is definitely my fandom bicycle here, but Reno, Reeve, and Tifa are up there too.

As a rule, I tend to stick to one or two OTPs or the occasional OT3 in fandom and am generally not much for multishipping, but there are a few exceptions to this rule.

The first fandom where I really enjoyed multishipping was Shark. I shipped damn near every possible pairing in that show, but Jessica (Jeri Ryan's character) was my fandom bicycle. My main ships for her were Jess/Stark, Jess/Danny and Jess/Madeleine, but I also liked Jess/Isaac, Jess/Raina and Jess/Claire. My secondary bicycle was Danny, 'cause in addition to Jess/Danny I also shipped him with Stark, Madeleine and this guy Michael who was only in one episode but damned if they didn't have chemistry.

As for other fandoms, in Steven Universe Peridot and Pearl are my fandom bicycles. I ship Peridot with Lapis, Amethyst, Garnet and Bismuth, and I like Pearl with Rose, Volleyball, Bismuth, Mystery Girl and Jasper. In She-Ra, I ship Catra with Adora, Scorpia, Double Trouble and Glimmer. Between Catra and Peridot, I'm starting to wonder if shipping small, loud, angry gremlins with multiple characters is going to be a thing with me now.
