A lot of it was posted by 4chan originally. Almost certainly for ironic reasons, thinking that turning a popular singer into a white supremacist icon would be funny I guess?

I don't see why it should be particularly ironic (except in the broad sense that even the most sincere things on 4chan are couched in irony). People on 4chan can and do enjoy pop music.
