The part where prince found jebus and denounced LGBTQ people and said we're all going to hell, after making millions exploiting us? Because that actually fucking happened. I think what ayrt takes an issue with is the implication that anyone who objects to the secret in any way is an obvious homophobe. When no, the OP is using one of Prince's worst qualities as a measure of his talent. It isn't. OP's entitled to think Prince is a piece of shit, and even that his music is shit. But acting like one is an indicator of the other is ridiculous, a cheap jab, and it taints the point OP is trying to make.

I'm sorry, I'm not overly knowledgable about the timeline of his life, but did he keep exploiting LGBT+ people after he converted? I know someone who was supportive and then "found Jesus" and became homophobic, but people change for the worse in unforeseen ways sometimes. If I could go back in time and warn the person I know that in the future they'd find religion and become a homophobe, they'd think I was crazy. You're acting like he was a homophobe all along and only started showing it after sufficiently exploiting people he always hated, when maybe he just you know... never expected to change like that? It's terrible that he did, but it doesn't mean there was any disinginuity about LGBT+ people when he put the imagery in his videos.
