I'm not saying it is, i guess i just assumed someone who liked those series wouldn't judge a series so quickly by unusual art. But whatever floats your boat i guess.

what makes this different from oda and araki's art styles is that the latter two are in control over their own art and have well realized art styles. the pic in the secret is just badly drawn and it's obvious the artist is aiming for something else.

sorry for butting in and not making sense :(

No, that makes perfect sense. Actually, I felt like pointing out that one of the problems with the art is that it's not unique ENOUGH; it just looks like generic shoujo, except with the proportions all over the place. (Which in my opinion is like piling ugly on top of ugly, but I have a shoujo allergy so YMMV)

I saw that and didn't think shoujo so much as, "Oh God it's that chick who does all the yaoi." Except that chin doesn't look capable of cutting his throat open, so I'm probably wrong.
Apparently a whole mess of artists are trying to emulate the same godawful person's style.

I guess it may just be a matter of opinion, and probably a bias one on my part. I honestly love Nakamura's art, and i understand that the picture in 157 isn't exactly lovely, but her art in Tokyo Crazy Paradise was lovely, and seeing how much it has changed in Skip Beat too is awesome.
I honestly don't think you can judge 18+ volumes worth of manga on a single picture from a secret.

And no need to apologise, you made perfect sense.

I remember seeing Ren and being a bit freaked out by his long face and longer legs, but I've gotten used to it. I like the story above all else-- the art is quite nice. Besides, as the volumes go on, Nakamura's art style gets even more refined. In the anime, aside from the still super-long legs (which are actually the butt of numerous jokes), Ren looks more human. ^^;
