It feels like what we're seeing here is a classic Mormon case of "People will persecute me because I'm Mormon and they're jealous because they can't have the truly of ugly undergarments and polygamy that we have."

Geez, kid. Nobody gives a shit about your religion until you lot start forcing it on other people. Don't you think it's a little arrogant to think that people would hate you just because of your religion? That's just a fear tactics your leaders impose on you to keep you in line. *eye roll*

You sound though, like you don't fit in with the Mormon crowd. You can't be pro-choice and anti-Prop 8 and still believe in all the basic principles of the Mormon religion. I hope one day you'll realize what a load of bullshit it is and you'll leave.

In the meantime, don't let your church's well-deserved bad rep slow you down. Writers are judged on how well they can write. If you suck, you'll be hated because you suck. If you're good, it'll be liked by more than the kids who natural devour bad fiction anyway.

I believe in the basics of the religion. I don't consider the stances on abortion and homosexuality part of the core beliefs. I don't think it makes me less of a Mormon to only want to embrace the positive aspects of the church.

I kinda regard religion like a line from Big Trouble in Little China: "People take what they want, and leave the rest – like your salad bar."

I don't particularly care for the self-victimizing crap that we see in some mormons, but there's that in all sets of minorities.

But whatevs, nobody cares!! I agree with you on the writing!
