I debated about watching The Originals because I loved Elijah so much on TVD. But I think I really loved the concept of Originals more than the execution? Like S2 TVD, awesome. Give me high powered nearly immortal characters who give no fucks and are at the top of the food chain. But when they become main characters and have to deal with problems? I kind of lose interest. I did like Kol, though, what little we saw of him on TVD.

Fair enough. I thought the first season wasn't that strong but enjoyed it after that. It explores the sibling relationships a lot more, and I like all the witch stuff. One of my gripes with TVD was that Bonnie didn't get better storylines and magic was a bit of an afterthought.
