Yeah, to be clear, the people who aren't wearing masks are assholes and should knock it the fuck off

I just think it's weird that the messaging is obsessing over wearing masks as opposed to the various other public health problems, and also, there seems to be this weird narrative that positions not wearing masks as a uniquely American social problem that is not true at all

NAYRT, but I think that's because (as far as I can tell) people who don't wear masks in other countries aren't wiping their noses on retail employees who ask them to put one on.

Americans aren't the only ones not wearing masks, but they're being loud assholes about how it's their god-given right as Americans to not wear masks and that's what's driving the narrative.

I think there's a difference between saying that the people who don't wear masks in America are uniquely bad in American ways, and saying that not wearing masks is a bigger problem in America for uniquely American reasons. And the second one is what I see people saying. And it's not true.
