104. It's completely fine not to be attracted to someone of the same sex. It's not something you can force you know. There are people who can't be attracted to the same sex no matter the situation.

117. Like most comic/cartoons from other countries, anime has its generic designs too. And like those said other countries, there are some that stand out and easily identifiable from the others.

130. Don't worry, I'm 25 and can't drive. More like I would fall asleep at the wheel. My family and friends said do not worry about it, but I know my body. If I'm sleepy, I will sleep in any situation, even if it means I'm doing something in the moment. But I live in NYC, so cars are more of a luxury than a necessity here unless your job needs it, which isn't the case for most NYers.

131. While I don't think the book sucks if it compared to Twilight, but it's more "what's the point?" for me.

138. Actually Hidekaz did research for the height and each character is design pretty carefully (like certain parts of their hair, face even glasses represent something of their country. America doesn't actually need glasses and I always LOL that they represent Texas). Plus the fact that part of their personalities are based on national stereotypes is part of the humor (he's pretty accurate that for the most part. America is so dead on I cringe). Honestly, I think the boy and girl country idea is bad. In before, WIMMENZ H8TR, I'm all for Hidekaz to make the girls have a bigger role and more female countries, but it's superfluous to have two "humans" represent one country. Yeah, Italy and Germany are represented by two people, but the latter was two separate countries for a long while. Italy was basically like two countries at one time, but I'm glad he didn't go crazy with it. There's already over 150 countries on Earth, and I hope Hidekaz would make at least a design on all of them and hopefully the sexes of the "countries" even out. But in the end, it's his work. What he says go, and I'm along for the ride, bb.

It would be too many, not that it already a shitload of characters now. It's better to hope for more girl countries to be revealed. Like I want Ukraine to make her appearance because I think she would be super adorable, somehow judging being the oldest sister of Russia and Belarus. I love she's a big eater (IIRC).

143. Oh shi- John Cho is Sulu?! Fuck, I was already going, now even more so. And puh-leeze, the original cast was hot itself so it really doesn't make a difference to me.

145. You know, I always find those things such a waste to use to wipe your butt. That's just me. Although, using them when you have a flu/cold is A-okay.

149. Even in comedic situations? I mean, it's not something to feel pathetic for, because I wince and feel bad when stuff like that happen unless it's in a completely humorous way (although when it used over and over again, I start feeling bad too.)

164. I dunno, I tend to use OTP for pairing I'll never tire of even if my feelings for the series change.

179. What's the problem? It's not abnormal to like a certain type of relationship for interaction, even if you're asexual.

By the way, as for the characters' personalities, Hidekaz did in fact draw a genderswitched version of the male countries (or was Hungary there as well?) and noted how different (or not so different) they would be if they were women. Like, the UK would be more snobbish, etc., and Italy would be a feisty girl and not hetare at all, so it wouldn't be Hetalia. (If Hungary was a man he'd be a depressed alcoholic loser who hates everyone who has it better than him, so even though she's one of the less accurate depictions, I'm pretty happy with her as she is now. :D)

LOL, you prolly get the "OH MY GOD! THIS IS SEXIST!!" brigade on the series as well if all the girls are moe and N. Italy was portrayed as a useless girl and the main character. The webcomic wouldn't win either way.

I think female!US would be same, IMO. Female!Japan would prolly be a Yamato Nadeshiko or at least very submissive (and possibly a fujoshi).

Yeah, apparently many people simply don't get the "fun with stereotypes" part... Though what with all the male-dominated anime/manga/etc. out there I really don't get why people pick on this for being sexist or whatever... (at least this is not the first time I've seen this argument against it) Probably because it's popular or something.

Yeah, and some of the ones are usually call it sexist are the ones who would be interested but turned off by the male-dominated cast and the BL undertones it has sometimes. Plus it's the talk of the town around the anime and manga circles here. I myself wonder how they would take to Strike Witches, which is SO much more potentially offensive than Hetalia and an all girl main cast.

I saw the picture before but I didn't know Hidekaz actually planned out how the girl versions were gonna be like. I hope he does do a few genderbent Hetalia strips because all of them are too adorable. (I refuse that female!France isn't perverted in some way. LOL.)

Strike Witches (and the FMA movie) was my first thought as well when the backlash against Hetalia started over here. But I suppose it's removed far enough from reality for most people... plus I've heard people saying that the show is perfectly fine because the fanservice is "justified" and it has strong female characters. *facepalm* (The sad thing about Strike Witches is that I like military planes and I would've actually liked the idea if it weren't for all the panties, kemonomimi and whatnot. That made me go "erk, no thanks.")

IIRC Hidekaz only commented on Italy, England and the USA, but I suppose the rest of the gang would also be based on the female versions of the national stereotypes. Probably Spain would be a proud, sexy senorita, France an aristocratic lady (who has an assortment of flimsy lingerie and who knows what else in her cupboard :D) and Germany would be... um... athletic and masculine. ^^;; (Btw, that bit about male!Hungary wasn't Hidekaz, it was just me not being patriotic. xD;; )

I also hope that he'll do some strips with the female versions... they're so cute and (un)surprisingly popular as well. (Aww, that MAD is so cute~ I really wonder how the anime will fare against all these incredibly cute and hilarious fanvids.)
