117. I just find it weird that they seem to think the only reason they or anyone should get into a series is for the art style. Art style usually comes dead last for me, behind things like plot, character personalities, character relationships, etc. (I say usually because I was pushed into actually reading Reborn because of Belphegor's character design, but I would never have kept reading if I'd found the plot or characters boring. Characters especially. Fair's fair.)

138. The explanation I've seen scanning the comments here is that America got the glasses when Texas was made a state, because it was part of another country before that. So when it was brought into America, America was given something to his character design that wasn't actually a physical part of him, but still counts as part of him. ;) I kind of like that explanation for its sheer geekery.

But yeah, I don't get the problem with a lot of them being guys. The girls that are there are kickass. And I don't understand how people can take a comic like Hetalia of all things any kind of seriously -- the whole reason I started reading it was because of Russia's annexing of Austria and him summarily getting coerced into making the other a sandwich. :|b

D'aw, I kind of like the idea of Texas being represented by glasses. :B Although I wonder why it's just Texas being separate, because it wasn't even the last state to be added... Oh well.

I just think if there were more girls, people would whine about how such-and-such country only acts that way because SHE'S A GIRL and have problems with both the country stereotype and the female stereotype. Double standard, but you know how it goes.

I guess it's just because Texas is the only state that used to be an entirely seperate country/nation? I think? I'm not sure, I'm only going by hearsay now because I sorta suck at history.

Yeahhh, I think people would hate "useless Italy" a LOT more if he was a she. Not to mention a lot of the other characters. I'm actually kind of surprised when people say they hate that the countries are stereotypes, because for the most part, they portray the countries as being good (if fucked up, in the case of Russia -- and oops, up there I meant Germany annexing Austria, I fail) people. The only one that has consistantly annoying stereotypes is France, and I think I automatically forgive that one because I'm like, perma-thinking of him as Grantaire. >_>

I remember just recently there was a post on the Hetalia comm about how people felt about their country's personality, and almost no one had any major problems. I think the only one that came up was about how Finland's name would be more accurate if it were Timo rather than Tino. Mostly it was "yeah unfortunately some people really are like that here." I don't remember what the French people said about France, but I hope it wasn't as positive as the rest. >_> I think he's just there for "naked people are funny" jokes.

I know it's just a collection of fans there, but still - just means Hetalia fans have a sense of humor about themselves? AND THAT IS NOT OKAY. SHAME ON THEM.
