109. This! Although I will admit that there's a different style between the characters in TV and the characters in anime. (Of course, that's in general. Within individual series you'll see some deviations...now I'm just blabbering.)

117. There's always series that stand out from the pack. Check out the character designs in Paranoia Agent, for instance. Cromartie High School doesn't look like that at all, while we're at it. And even with "kawaii" girls, not all of them have huge breasts (see: Princess Tutu).

124. I've...never even seen those before. And it seems like an odd thing to be that bothered by. It's not like it's a huge graphic or anything.

128. From what I've heard, there's already battles between the fandom. (Including from old fans of HP that think Twilight is "more mature". ahahaha.)

130. I didn't get my license until I was 19. So...yeah.

138. I think part of the point of the series is to have Ho Yay, so having a girl and a guy for every country would defeat the purpose. (Not that I'm a fan, just that's what I've heard.)

(And I mean that in a mostly joking sort of way, but...good gosh, two very Christian men being slashed, then their Messaih-figures being slashed (although LOTR isn't an allegory), and then on top of it Gandalf being shipped with Narnia's version of Satan? LOL my childhood!)

The Ho Yay isn't actually the point of the series. Telling anecdotes of history is. It just that it has a majority of guys and certain actions between countries can lead to Ho Yay moments.

Part of the point. Yeah, the history plays a part, too, but otherwise, the OP's right--what's the point of them all being guys?

Not all of them are guys. There are girls too. Who knows why most of them are guys, because the Ho Yay is almost always used in a humorous context except for one series of strips. And it's not integral to the series as some people believe because most of the strips don't have it.

Tolkien and Lewis were close friends IRL. Even given the reputation surrounding British upper-class education, I don't actually think they were *that* close. But it's certainly shippable.

Oh, I know. It's just more surprising to me since Tolkien's so very....Catholic, and both were happily married (although it took C.S. Lewis a while to get married). I get why people would ship it--it's less stranger than some pairings I've seen--it's just hard to imagine it for me.
