Text: these guys got me into Rush. Pretty sure I'm doing it wrong.

The fandoms I feel inspired to write for either have lots of short drabbles or almost no fic. I don't want to be the only one posting long stories that I clearly spend lots of time on.

I still love Doctor Who but I'm tired of the current show, I'm tired of arguing about Moffat and RTD, and I'm tired of talking about everyone else's favorite Doctors and companions. I guess all I really want to do is talk about my favorite Doctor and companion.

I haven’t seen much from the Classic era, but I saw enough to know that Seven and Ace are awesome.

Spoilers for Watchmen the series:
I really really liked the Watchman series. it's definitely one of the better "on the nose" shows about anti-black racism in the US.

The secret is that the ending really disappointed me. It's not that I think Lady Trieu should have succeeded, I mean what she did to Bian was straight child abuse, so I could see "this person shouldn't be given god powers". It's just that I don't really think Angela was a better recipient than her of Dr. M's powers, I don't have any reason to believe that she'd be more responsible at using them than her, and I think the show framed it as though she would or that it was like the ultimate reparations (ew) or that Veidt's legacy was too much for Lady Trieu to overcome or Angela's brutality on the police force was just her being ~tricked by racists~ but she's good now that she knows (ewwwwwwww). Those perspectives are series-ruiners. I also think they shortchanged the Vietnamese perspective, but I'm not Asian, so I may be overstepping there.

I still love Criminal Minds. I feel guilty over it. I refuse to give in and rewatch it. But I can't make myself hate the show no matter how hard I try. It has all the awful tropes of every other cop show. But I watched from the beginning, and I used to be obsessed with RL FBI profilers as a kid even before CM was a thing. So I went into the show with it being basically designed for me. And I just can't shake it.

David Tennant as a person is great and as a fanboy. But honestly the only things I've liked him in as an actor are Broadchurch and Jessica Jones. He's super overrated most of the time and I can almost never see him as anyone but David Tennant, fanboy trying to playing a role.

I don't understand the point of fic under 1000 words

I've read some great ficlets under 1K. If the author goes out of their way to make it a stand-alone piece that feels complete, and holds it to the same standards they'd hold a longer fic to, I think short fics can be really good. However, most of the ficlets I've read on tumblr in the last couple of years have just been rushed little chunks that are only as short as they are because the author only felt like writing "the good part" and didn't want to bother writing the rest. Which is not something I tend to enjoy, personally.

So I maybe, kind of get where you're coming from with this. But I also disagree.

Sorry, I just reread your secret and realized you never actually stated an opinion. So there isn't really anything for me to disagree with. My bad.

I'll rephrase: Your feelings are valid, and I feel the same way about some short fics, but #notallshortfics (I'm sorry, I had to).

I think Case sometimes lets a "not really a secret" through just because it's wanky and he enjoys the drama. (All love to Case, who has earned the rights to get his kicks where he can at this point.)
