I agree it looks good but I think it's sort of a problem if a vast majority of depictions of women in specific kinds of media are designed around looking sexy as hell regardless of any other considerations, especially when realistically it would be incredibly impractical to do so

This! There are characters where I have zero problem with them dressing to look hot even if it's impractical. But there are also a lot of characters where it just doesn't make sense for them to be dressed in a way that could genuinely impede their ability to do their job. Like, if she might have to chase down a perp, why is she wearing a pencil skirt and four inch heels?

There's also the fact that if I've got nice heels and skirts and stuff like that, I'm probably going to be saving them for fancy occasions and nice evenings out. I wouldn't want to risk ruining my nice shoes or some nice skirt by wearing it while tramping through the woods chasing down a criminal, or walking around a bloody crime scene, or things like that.

Even if it was for a fancy occasion, and I didn't care if I ruined them, I still wouldn't wear heels on soft ground. They -sink- with every step.
