The show really was frustrating with how it handled them (though I do appreciate they were honorable). I know they were pigeonholed as US Airforce publicity (since the Airforce had a say in the creative choices of this show), therefore stunting their relationship in some ways... But still. After season 8, after Jack/RDA left... the show not being honest and clear about their relationship (otherwise, everyone behind the scenes say they got together after Threads... the whole « Dumbledore is gay » level of writing) felt a bit... unfair ? To the fans. To the characters themselves. Sometimes I wonder if this was why they didn’t include or mention Jack in the last episode of the show. That was... really stupid and disrespectful imo. Whatever the reasoning.

Anyway, I still love them (was stupidly obsessed with them as a 14 years old, I’m 31 now, much less obsessed and more critical... but like I say, I still ship them). But not thanks to the show. It’s thanks to the fans. I still read and get all kind of feelings reading fics (in a way, the show being so coy kinda led to a more important fandom productivity... because fanfic writers’ fuel is often frustration over canon, needing to explore what was never shown or explored... I guess I’m glad about this at least lol). I myself draw fanarts once in a while (like right now, I’m in the mood).
