JKR's following like, the "LGB Alliance" and weird trad-cath islamphobes on twitter and had an accident when Stephen King tweeted "trans women are women", it's not looking great on that front tbqh.

Yeah I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt until she wrote that manifesto and started liking tweets that said “leave the t out of lgb”.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that seems more concrete.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Islamaphobes, an LGB group and a tweet saying that trans women are women are your evidence..... Yeah okay.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Please at least do the bare minimum of research, the LGB Alliance (who seem to have strong ties to the Heritage Foundation) spend all their time moaning about how trans people are a danger and have even done tweets decrying historic gay activism, bi people and equal marriage.

Do you have any real proof? The only thing I could find when I tried to find some was a bunch of randos saying it on twitter, anyone can say anything there. And one article that ONE guy supports both, Gary Powell. I would't call one guy strong ties but if you want to play that then Jennifer Pritzker, billionaire trans women, controls the ACLU because her foundation heavily contributes to them.

an LGB group

I mean, there is purely no purpose for the existence of LGB groups except transphobia. If they weren't transphobic they'd be LGBT groups.

and a tweet saying that trans women are women

AYRT is talking about an incident where (as I understand it) JKR tweeted something from a feminist philosopher that didn't talk specifically about trans issues but that seemed meant to be a justification for her position on trans people. Stephen King tweeted agreement with the quote, JKR tweeted back to thank him. Some people talked to King about it and he tweeted out "trans women are women". JKR then deleted her tweet thanking him.

Because Islam is such a caring and tolerant religion for all LGBTQ people?

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Stay on topic weirdo.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
The AYRT was the one who brought it up.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-03 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Being gay is against Islam but getting SRS and becoming a straight women is not.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I don't actually know what the religious doctrine behind this is but isn't this actually how Iran does things?

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
DA
Yep, this is also how it happened that a homophobic trans beauty blogger thought it was awesome to tell her followers to register on gay dating website, catfish gay guys and then out them, making them get arrested (which led to several suicides).

AYRT--Yikes!

(Anonymous) 2020-07-04 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing with the LGB Alliance is that there are a lot of people in the LGB community who feel that Stonewall and similar groups no longer speak for them as their focus has largely switched to being about trans people.

Trans issues are not automatically LGB issues and I don't think having a separate group is transphobic and there's probably trans people who don't identify as LGB so don't feel represented either.

We're the same community and historically always have been. Any "focus switch" has been because that's the part of our community that needs the most help at the moment, and, historically, has always helped the rest of the community too. That's why it's called a community.
