This is definitely the reason behind the incest ships in my fandoms that have them. The characters have chemistry that's very easily interpreted as being shippy, and in two cases I'm pretty sure the writers did it on purpose (the characters in question led very fucked-up lives to the point where their sibling was literally all they had for a while and they had a very unhealthy codependence).
