How many people does it have to be before it's a problem? Before it's something that should be shut down?

Idk, I'm just getting really tired of hearing the broken record of "vocal minority" literally everywhere. Fandom, real life, it doesn't matter; if people are doing a horrible thing, they are immediately dismissed as a "vocal minority." And it's time to realize that doing that just allows them to flourish and get bolder. Dismissing them is just a way of justifying it to yourself and shunting off any (even potential) moral responsibility to deal with it.

In the broad sense, this is how we got fucking Qanon assholes elected to Congress.

What do you mean by "shut down"?

And like... at the point where you're now saying that we have a moral responsibility to go in and shut down certain forms of speech because people are saying horrible things and we have a moral responsibility to deal with it, I think you need to have a better explanation of what your problem with antis is, because isn't that kind of the justification that antis use for what they do?

Shutting down people as a whole - unless they're like, neonazis - is kinda auto-NO for me and I'm certainly more on the prude, "tw pls" side.

1. Anits are the vocal minority. Weirdos who support the Hays Code are the minority OF that minority. Literally a tiny little fraction of fandom. Waste your time railing against those people if you want to, but most of us have shit to do. Like, do you also throw down with flat-earthers?

2. I don't need to "shunt off moral responsibility" for dealing with crack-pots. I have no moral responsibility for dealing with crackpots. Neither do you, or anybody else.

3. If anything allows antis to "flourish and get bolder" it's giving them attention. You want to disempower antis? Ignore them, block them, choose not to reblog their stuff.

4. Unless what they are saying falls outside the protection of free speech laws, or violates the terms of the platform they are using, they have a right to say what they want, and you have no right to stop them. You can certainly argue with them. That's totally your choice. Myself, I will generally choose to ignore them, for the reasons I laid out in points 1, 2, and 3.

That's some fine quasi-fascism rhetoric you're spewing there.

This is horseshoe theory in action. Wow.
