172. Those people ARE faking it and probably don't even know what the hell it actually is, because people like me who actually DO have Asperger's Syndrome wouldn't act like such jackasses. Seriously hon, I totally understand you. I can carry on a convo easier on the phone and IM than IRL.

IM is so much easier for me- more then anything else.

IRL I'm either really quiet/shy/guarded or very active and try to carry on the subject so fast the other person can't really keep up with me and judge me and eat my soul because you know they will- there's total logic behind my defense in this .__.!

I'm very guarded except around my close friends. I'm paranoid that people judge me. >_>

Yeahhh. I've been to one con (Gallifrey One 2008 in Los Angeles), and even though I had huge amounts of fun, just about the only person I actually talked to and socialised with was my best friend. And I still had to take little time-out breaks to deal with the sensory overload.

I'd go back, any day (dude, it's filled with Doctor Who geeks, these are my people!), but not so much with the socialising.

THIS. Thank you. For someone who as Asperger's Syndrome as well, it's so annoying to see people talk about it and not know a thing about it.

It would be such a horror to be at a con because of the large amount of people. I'd be too damn nervous to do something as stupid as that.

That is so true that they're more than likely pulling an excuse to be stupid from thin air. -And nothing makes me angrier than someone using Asperger's as an excuse when they clearly DON'T have it. My brother has it in the mild-moderate spectrum, as well as a younger cousin. -Just thank you for getting it out there.
