I know GW was bad. It just didn't feel bad while I was there (like I said, perhaps I was too young to know what the fuck was going on). Same with KH, although in that case I did realise it was bad while I was involved, but, personally, I don't think it was ever as bad as KHR manages to be. I'm judging this mostly on quality of fic, although there haven't really been any pairing wars (nor were there really ever in KH), only random 'stop writing this pairing' clubs, and I've only stumbled across a few spots of female-character-of-choice bashing.

I do ship Gokudera/Yamamoto, which is a popular pairing, which should mean there's a higher percentage of goodfic. There isn't. Good Mukuro/Hibari is even more difficult to find, considering the complexities of both characters involved, and how far you have to take Hibari out of character for him to fit into the uke outline. Same with any pairing involving him, imo (although the seme outline is perhaps closer to his actual character, this still does not mean he fits it). In terms of doujins, I've only got a few Yamamoto/Gokudera ones, and they're not translated, so I can only go off the actions. And it appears to me, in them, that they're slightly more IC than I had ever hoped from a doujin.

I guess you got the good lot when it came to fics in those fandoms and managed to dodge the female-bashing die-for-our-ship things and pairing war with those two. The only one Gundam Wing fic I could honestly say was good was Bridlewood Manor and that was an AU. Kingdom Hearts... it was hard to find one that was in character, no Kairi bashing and not a high school fic.

Yeah, if you ship those pairings, I really can't help you since I don't at all. I think overall, the fics had been pretty good against most doujinshi, and I read a lot of KHR doujinshi and I can read Japanese, except for 8059 and 6918, although I read Amatou for the laughs although it's pretty out of character for humor.

I didn't like Bridlewood Manor XD Although I understand what you're saying - my favourite fic was an AU crossover type thing, wasn't really IC because of this, and had Relena bashing (although the author kinda repented later on). Tbh it was a lot of people's 'starter' fandom, and the ones I still follow have moved on to bigger and better things, and realise and regret how bad GW was. They've learnt from their mistakes, as it were.

In KH, I've read plenty of IC, non Kairi-bashing, non-AU fic. I've also read quite a few AU, IC, non-Kairi bashing fics, some of which were high school (I hate the high school AU as much as the next person, but I can't deny that there are a few good ones).

I pretty much only download the NALIS ones, although I've been told that if I could understand what they were saying I wouldn't like them as much. But I'm just happy to find something that doesn't (seem to) turn Gokudera into a massive uke, and I've seen enough random sample pages from other doujins to know that that is what normally happens to him (unless it's Gokudera/Tsuna, and I don't follow that pairing).
