It's not about looks. It's the emotional attechment they'd feel for each other based on the fact that they're practically cut off from other people and have only each other to clining to.

It's not like two people fall in love because "you're gorgeous and good looking". It's a fucked up, wrong, and sad relationship because they believe the only person that truly understand is each other.

I have a more interest in reading about Sam and Dean screwing than Jared and Jensen screwing (I read both, I just usually find wincest much more satisfying), so I don't think you can discount the emotional/psychological elements of the relationship as a significant part of the appeal. I'm not saying the fact that they are quite aesthetically appealing boys hurts matters, but I don't think it's the only draw, y'know?

And yeah, Sam and Dean would still meet the same number of the factors that increase the probability of sibling incest even if they weren't pretty. I'm pretty sure 'being really hot' isn't one of those factors. ;D (I could list the factors that they do meet off the top of my head, but that wouldn't be very reliable given that a) I can't remember them very well and b) I've never studied psychology, so I'm not certain how reliable my original sources were anyway. It would more be one of those 'hoping someone who knows stuff can come along and clarify' or 'starting point so you can do more digging for yourself' things.)

Does everybody really think they're that attractive? Sure, I'm not in the fandom, and I've only watched the first season and part of the second, but I think they do look rather ordinary.
