Ooh, wow, another person that doesn't like Leeta :O There's at least two of us! I agree fully; I thought her ultra-sweetness was kind of put-on in the first place, but after that I definitely thought it came off as completely fake. Idk if that was intentional or not, but I hated seeing her onscreen from then on out.

Julian being happy when he sees his bear again was so cute - also in that episode where he gets kidnapped by section 31, and he tells kukalaka to keep the home fires burning.

When things like this happen, where something is clearly written in because it was needed for a plot to happen and consideration clearly wasn't made to what it actually meant for characterization, I tend to pretend it didn't happen in terms of having an impact on characterization. It was a badly written plot point, and I never took this one plot point as descriptive of Leeta's character.

Also, Leeta and Rom were adorable together.

+1 to both

there's no need to treat everything as though it's an internally consistent real-but-fictional universe, and not a story with a narrative created by people for specific reasons

and Leeta and Rom WERE cute together

Just lazy writing for a larf, nothing deeper than that.

I didn't mind Leeta, but keeping his stuffed animal (iirc) was a shitty thing to do.

Though more likely is Julian pretending that Kukulaka wasn't that important to him (in one of his fits of dumbass fake manliness) and Leeta not realising and keeping him.
caecilia: (I need a matching rita repulsa)

Just wondering, was Kukalaka ever mentioned again after this episode?
