That's a crappy beta. The idea is to help a writer do their best work, not to force them to write everything the way the beta would.

Yeah. That was the end of our 'partnership'. I don't mind my beta telling me things aren't working or that this passage is unclear, or slow, or whatever.

But don't try to make me write in your *style*.

Which is why *i* don't beta - I'm never quite sure if i'm offering good suggestions or just re-writing in my head, heh.
