I read the first sentence of this secret and the first thing I thought of was that I immediately read all the modern AUs for The Untamed when I started reading fic for it.
Then I saw your example was from that fandom and I had to laugh.

Anyway, it looks like I'm the exact opposite, lol. I'm reading fics set in the canon timeline right now and I'm a lot pickier about them.
