Re: Advice-Bras, so maybe TMI a bit

Not trying to jump on you, anon, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT USE VICTORIA'S SECRET AS A RESOURCE! Their measuring system is infamously awful. For example, I've been professionally fitted as a 30E/30F. What size does the VS bra size calculator think I am? A 34B. (I'm serious.) Also, when I let the VS sales associates size me, they never just admit I'm a 30 band, because VS doesn't carry 30 bands in Canada.

So yeah, do NOT trust VS on matters of sizing. They're bound to correctly size some people. But they incorrectly size a lot of people too.

Years ago I bought a bra at the VS at the Mall of America and was fitted by an elegant older woman in high heels and pearls who seemed to know what she was doing.

Years later I was fitted at a VS at the local mall and the sales girl measured my band size (which I already know how to do because I own a tape measure, thanks) and then just glanced at my chest and said "You're probably an A or a B or a C." Oh. Okay. That narrows it down!

That set me on a path to really figure out what bra to wear.

For the record, I figured out I wear 32DD and am picky about what bras I'll buy based on how they fit (not all brands/styles fit me well). I really like Wacol, since Macy's carries their bras in my size.
