Modern social commentary, ugh... I'm so glad I didn't bother watching this.

To be fair, a lot of things they did well. They made Aunt Josephine explicitly queer and introduced a queer classmate for Anne, and that entire story arch was really beautifully done and period-appropriate.

Same for introducing POC characters--Gilbert and Bash became family and it also just felt natural to the characters and well done.

They didn't do everything right, but what show does?

This. They overdid it sometimes, IMO. But overall I thought it was fairly well done.

I'll make you a deal. Stop calling your people lesbians and I'll stop calling mine queer. Because at least as many women have had "lesbian" thrown at them as an insult as "queer," so if my identity is a slur because people used it to be mean to you in middle-school, then so is yours.

Or, you can crawl back under your TERF bridge like the gate-keeping troll that you are.
