(Anonymous) 2020-07-18 04:37 am (UTC)(link)I think its child abuse because Bian is a clone, it's not her mother and she grew from a baby with no memories of Bian the adult.
Rorschach said that about Dan too, I don't think he's reliable as proof, you know? It just seemed to me that Adrian was wildly misanthropic even regarding sex but still need to jerk it, lmao. The way all his servants were dressed suggested to me that he doesn't have a preference.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)You are completely right, I have to say.
Unfortunately it never even crossed my mind to look at the creators intentions with this piece, past what I know from the original creators, and what I saw in the movie. (which is basically your typical shitshow comic book formula with an extra helping of volatile ridiculousness, as usual;;)
Still, I literally swore when I finished the last episode- and not because of what happened, but due to the fact that once I returned to the main menu I realized Angela was coloured blue as part of the title image, and it hit me that my theory was better left in the sidecorner of my presumptuous theories;;
You're right with the child abuse angle too. Even despite Bian's mind regaining the memories of her grandmothers as she slept. Part of me wonders if that isn't something she'd done since adolescence if not birth. If it wasn't so different from any other child with nightmares seeking their parents comfort and safety. I'm sure she gave that comfort to her in her youth as she needed to do- and by no means do I agree with, or support this kind of abuse she obviously had on Bian- after all, even without the traumas she's forcing into Bian's mind as she sleeps, inducting a mind into her that isn't truly hers, she's also robbing what life she counts as a vessel from their own existence. It's basically every slue I can think of.
The thing with Rorschach and Dan though, I can't help but let my shipping senses guide me a little, if only in the way that Dan has always been the only exception to every and any rule Rorschach has had against society. Rich, lawful, sleeping with goddamn Twilight Lady and offering her his identity or whatever, and like these are all things Rorschach would never trust not before let alone after the Roche case- but even when vigilantes are banned Dan is still the partner he trusts, the one he first signed on to work with.
I'd honestly wager it was his own want for Dan to like men because he simply liked Daniel, while Ozi was more of a scapegoat/theory for his own misplaced homosexuality.
Then again, it's been like seriously forever since I read the comics, and even then I can't say I more than glanced at them at the time. So even though some specifics still glance out at me I still can't quite remember exactly how things went after all this time.
I tried to search for what exactly Adrian said about the chance that he had a daughter, but I basically failed miserably at finding it.
I totally buy that he just considers himself far beyond human contact though. He'd never found anyone that was 'worthy' of him, so he kept every sample of his seed until that individual showed themselves. After all, the last thing he'd do is allow the line of his brilliance to end with him, his only trouble would be to try and find someone suitable to impregnate himself with. I'd think the same thing would go with his servants. They were created by Monsieur Shrinkage, and they were literally created to serve, so automatically I would think he'd believe them beneath him, (as seen in his ease to kill them unsympathetically) and as even less than human on his scale of worth? The only argument I have is the amount of dick he had them show in his theatre, and that the male attendant was made to serve him personally time and time again.
