I'm debating writing a fic for my new, tiny fandom, but there's only a handful, and technically none for my ship so far (there is one that's pretty shippy, and the author says they ship them, but the fic itself is tagged as gen), so I feel like there's all this pressure to write something really good. I know that's probably dumb, but it's making me nervous and I don't like it.

Write it, anon, and if anyone says it isn't good enough, tell 'em to write their own!

Not that they will say that.

For someone who's looking for fic for that ship, I'm sure they'll be excited just to find one! and if your first attempt leaves room for improvement you can always write another one. I think writing is one of those things you just have to keep doing to get better at. You can always orphan your early attempts if you look back on them in embarrassment.

You'll never know if you wrote a good fic as there will be little feedback. If you like feedback don't spend too much time on it.
