While Fusion isn't directly about sex, I think Sugar is probably tuned in to the reality that consent issues go a lot further than just sex as we humans like to think about it. Contemporary sex educators suggest that we should respect people's boundaries and autonomy WRT to any kind of touch. Even though it's a slippery slope most people won't end up rolling down, it's just good practice to check in before hugs and hand-holding, and respect kids who say "no, I don't want a hug or a kiss."

Something that frustrates me about a lot of rape discourse is that it's too much "what can I get away with" and not enough "how do we build mutually-supportive relationships, even if it's just for an anonymous quickie?" And I think SU provides some good steps in that direction.
