Jadzia/Bashir has never worked for me (Bashir is too good in slash ships) but IMO Jadzia/Quark doesn't really make sense either, I'm generally much more interested in Jadzia/Sisko or Jadzia/Kira.

This was my comment that got made into a secret. Jadzia/Sisko doesn't work for me because they are very much just friends for me. I could get behind Jadzia/Kira, though.

Yeah Bashir's crush was majorly creepy. I was glad they ended up friends though. Sisko and Jadzia's friendship was great. I loved that they didn't have an ounce of romance between them.

That ep where they get married is hilarious!

It is a great episode. And I love the ship. Worf/Jadzia is probably my top Star Trek OTP from any Star Trek show or movie. They just work so well for me.

Big yes. Not that there's a ton of competition in terms of canon Star Trek ships that are well written, executed, and had actors with real chemistry. I have a soft spot for Tom and B'Ellana for sure but I can understand why other people aren't in love with them. Some of the fanon ships surpass a lot of the canon ones, to be blunt.

I like Tom and B'lanna too, as well as a few other ships. This one is just my top favorite, and probably the only one I really read fic for. They just worked so well together. They've got chemistry, a good story, and potential for a great, healthy relationship while also remaining interesting and leaving room for good stories on screen.

Yes, Jadiza and Worf top them all!

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed 100% with this secret OP!

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Holla, they are so cute. And I really rarely ship het!

Also agreed on Bashir; he was so creepy and gross about her that it 100% poisoned Bashir/Ezri for me when that happened. I hated it.

Dude, are you me!

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I have never really liked Bashir all that much, to be blunt probably because he was so gross up front with Jadiza that I never warmed to him. I also thought his relationship with Ezri was lazily written. Like they used his relationship with Jadiza as a short cut to Ezri and Bashir.

Ugh, I hate Bashir and Ezri's relationship. Then again, I don't really like Ezri all that much. But yes, the did use his "relationship" with Jadzia to shortcut things even though they'd previously made a big deal over things being new with each new Trill host. And even though Jadzia had never done more than maybe a tiny bit of flirting with Julian, and she flirted with everyone, and she was clearly not romantically into him. Then Ezri comes along and suddenly we're told Jadzia would have picked Bashir if Worf hadn't come along. Uh, no?

Yep. I would have bought Quark being her runner up more than Bashir.

I love this pic, it looks like Jadzia and Worf are at the Renaissance festival, LOL.

Klingons actually showed up at a Ren Fair I was at.

Does anyone apart from first season Bashir ship Bashir/Jadzia???

Jadzia/Worf was a great pairing and while it was stupid how they killed her off, I loved the episode where all her friends got together to make sure she got into Sto'Vo'Kor.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
FWIW I do really like the concept of later-seasons Julian and Dax as friends

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 10:58 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with everything except for the fact that Worf should have never been on DS9 in the first place. Let alone immediately overwrite Jadzia's actual honorary right of Klingonship, like he did. As if him being the same species made up for her being a thousand times more knowledgeable, experienced, and more than anything else accepted by the Klingons than Worf would ever wish to be. He had no place there, and it was a fact blatantly obvious from the beginning.

Jadzia/Quark is honestly adorable imo. I adore their friendship, and while I can't quite see them sexually involved I would definitely believe more than a few trists occured between the two of them all in good fun.

Jadzia/Bashir I fully agree with you upon. More than that, they reach a common understanding through the seasons that establish the fact that nothing romantic could ever occur between the two of them. Jadzia sees him nothing more than a friend, and Bashir learns to accept that, the both of them becoming close as colleagues, nothing more.
Hell, Bashir's interest was almost wholly due to his curiosity to her species, a creepy fuckup he has a reputation not to be able to tell the difference between.

Jadzia deserved so much better than what was pathetically thrown at her.

Strong disagree on Worf. I thought he was really great on DS9 and in fact liked him better there than on TNG.

(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It didn't register to me at the time (as a pre-teen) that Bashir was being creepy because of the way they played it with Dax - she never feels threatened or uncomfortable, she just brushes him off with an eyeroll because she's partly this very old and experienced slug and Bashir is like this silly little boy in her eyes.
