and Joe Biden thinks that JOBS is spelled with 3 letters and that it's impolite if someone confined to a wheelchair doesn't stand up and wave to the crowd and that FDR was the president in 1929 and went on TV to talk to the nation after the stock market crash.

And Palin said she read "all of the newspapers," couldn't name a single Supreme Court case besides Roe v Wade, said that a teacher's only reward is "in heaven," and thinks the earth is 6000 years old despite piles of scientific evidence to the contrary.

I can do this all night.

Obama said that America could end foreign oil dependency if people inflated their tires and that he could personally stop the rise of the ocean and that even though he had been a member of a church for 20 years he had no idea what any of the sermons were actually like.

1) Obama did not in fact actually say that, you're misquoting, so I win this round.

2) McCain said several times that Obama was un-American and "palled around with terrorists," and then, when someone said the same thing back to him, said it wasn't true and he didn't have any idea where they had gotten that idea.

McCain also said we should kill everyone in Iran via cigarette exports. Oh, and he looked into Putin's eyes and saw "KGB."

McCain also called his wife a "trollop" and a "cunt" in close succession in public.

WRONG. that was Palin. unless, i'm wrong. please show me where McCain ever said that. especially un-American. which neither of them ever said. IMPLICATION DOESN'T COUNT.

also, you've lost the game. we are recording stupid things the four of them have said not things that might be offensive.

the Iran thing might count. btw, McCain didn't mean he actually saw the letters KGB. it was a metaphor. and it's not stupid to call someone a "tollop" or a "cunt".

you seemed to have run out of things long before the night was over.

Implication counts. In politics, the things that are carefully not said are just as important as the things that are. How is calling Obama a socialist any different than calling him un-American, or a terrorist, or anything of that sort? It is the same, and the McCain campaign knew that when they crafted the message.

Obama stated a fact, which is that cars run better when their wheels are full and thereby require less gas (they get better mileage), and therefore as well, fewer oil changes. It's a known fact that any mechanic can verify, and it's why there are air pumps at gas stations. He in no way connected it to ending dependence on foreign oil, and it was part of a speech about ways Americans can take responsibility. Unless I'm recalling a different speech, he also recommended carpooling and public transit.

And if you're really looking for stupid things they've said, I'm afraid Palin has more of a book on things she didn't say, as her many interviews can testify to -- the non-answers, the long pauses, the carefully avoided questions. And, of course, the debate. Joe Biden answered the questions. Palin answered none, instead turning each into a reason to attack Biden.

And it isn't stupid to call someone names, but it might be seen as sexist and repulsive to do so, especially when the subject of them is your own wife. Of course, you are quickly shaping up to be a sexist, bigoted asshole, so you may not understand why so many people find McCain's behavior inexcusable.

here is how it work : America is dependent on foreign countries to supply oil. Republicans want to drill in America to stop importing oil. Obama is opposed to drilling inside America. He justifies this by saying that drilling is unnecessary because people can just inflate their tires and the country will save as much oil as could be gained by drilling.

SO :
A: INFLATING TIRES = DRILLING
B: DRILLING = OIL IMPORTS

THEREFORE, INFLATING TIRES = OIL IMPORTS.

"Making sure your tires are properly inflated, simple thing, but we could save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling, if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups. Obviously, Obama wasn't arguing that inflating tires would reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil -- but he was saying such a move would save as much energy as drilling for oil in the continental shelf would provide.
