(Anonymous) 2020-07-19 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)Like, the way the post that started this thread presented it was that characters should "at least have some semblance of that duty and responsibility" if they're going to be realistic depictions of royals. And I don't think that's historically accurate about what royals actually were like. That doesn't mean that all monarchs were bad or unserious royals either. But the idea that it's unrealistic for a royal to treat their responsibilities lightly seems genuinely really weird to me.
