All I figured is that it would make club/dancing scenes better in fic, but reading through this thread, clearly not everyone is on the same wavelength lol

Personally I thought it was because some people in fandom are good at writing while others are good at drawing, some video or image editing, some even cosplaying or crafting, but you don't really see people who are good at dancing and maybe anon wanted to see some interpretative fandom dances.

Unless you're like, in k-pop fandom, maybe.

yeah, I could see that -- or rather I hadn't thought about that! I'm pretty good at dancing, but it never intersects with fandom (aside from maybe music that will inspire a fic or having a dancing scene in a fic).

That's so nice! I guess I agree with OP, wouldn't mind seeing some in-character dances myself, though I can't dance to save my life. But I only started appreciating it after taking some street dance classes because, well, I felt weird being in k-pop fandom not being able to dance at all.

YAY! I'm glad you took a dance class -- and that is was prompted by your fandom lol that's great! I know it's out of a lot of people's comfort zone, but dancing can be such a freeing activity/form of expression. So whenever someone wants to try it, or is afraid of looking like a fool/poorly coordinated, I always try to be encouraging -- not everyone is out trying to be a competitive dancer. Dancing for its own sake is beautiful too. So I hope if it piqued your interest, you've continued! If only watching by choreography on youtube! lol

It was amazing. I felt a little bit embarassed for admitting it though as I was obviously an outcast being older than everyone and all lol. When prompted I just said I was enjoying my street dance classes which was true anyway. That and my busy schedule made me leave, but to this day I'm more confident in my dance skills (skill subpar but) and occasionally try to dance when I reeeally like a choreography (which has proven to be very difficult without a wide mirror and a teacher but still).
