I've never heard of any of these people.

If I'm not mistaken, Scott Lynch is the author of the Locke Lamora series and Elizabeth Bear is another fantasy author - both of whom I've read.

I was about to say that I didn't know the lady from the tweet till I googled her and found out that she is the author of one of my favorite fanfics (as well, as a book author ofc, but I've never read any of hers so far). Huh.

I've literally not heard a peep about this at all, though... but then, I try to avoid Twitter and don't follow many authors on any other social media.

It's been a whole thing.

A fun thing as a result of this has been people trying to uncancel Benjanun S / Requires Hate / Winterfox if anyone remembers them (since Bear was one of the people involved in that controversy, I think). Good times on the Internet!

ayrt
I read a bit of their post on their official website & it seems like everyone is taking advantage of one another these days. Everybody seems so insidious that I just want to hide in my bed forever.

I heard of them and this controversy. This is a grownass adult woman, who personally pursued a relationship with a married man, who's wife was against it to begin with, but was forced into it anyway. She even followed them when they moved, that's how dedicated she was to pursuing them. The wife eventually managed to get her husband to stop cheating on her, and Rowland lost her shit and is now painting herself as the victim.

Yeah, I don't trust her account one bit. If anything, it seems like a toxic situation where all parties were being toxic.
