This is largely how I feel as well.

My enjoyment of a work does sometimes suffer if, when I look back, I feel like I can clearly see signs of the creator’s profound shittiness in their work--stuff that seemed innocuous before, but in hindsight seems so much more telling.

But I don’t think the shittiness of a creator has ever outright ruined something for me. Just taken the shine off.

This is me, too. And it would almost certainly ruin new installments of whatever it was, even if I pirated it or something to avoid giving a criminal creep creator money. I'd be reading along expecting there to be something that yanked me out of the story and made me feel sick or angry or grossed out, so that even if there wasn't anything objectionable, I don'f think I'd enjoy it.

AYRT - For me I think it would depend on how awful the person was. Max Landis? Yeah, I'll never enjoy anything else he ever makes. That guy's a fucking psycho. Anything starring Spacey is probably in the same boat.

OTOH, if JKR came out with something legit good, I could definitely still enjoy it. Or like, I can still enjoy Martin Freeman in things, despite the fact that he seems like someone I wouldn't at all want to be friends with.
