Yep. I've been poor, and so has my family, and I'm always hesitant to ask people for money, because I don't want to be one of those people. Plus, who knows, those people may need that money for their own situations someday down the line, I don't want to leave them potentially suddenly financially strapped for cash right when they need it most. I know how that feels, after all!

If someone offers to help me if they're able during a particularly rough moment or something, I appreciate it, of course, and pay them back when I'm able. But yeah, I would never dare make a thing out of it. It just gets too awkward and messy.
