Wow, yeah. If you're genuinely hard up and someone offers you a gift card for food, there's no reason not to take it. I mean, that's money from your own pocket you no longer have to spend on food, so they're basically giving you money anyway. Even considering this person was a scammer, they were being dumb. You were going to take care of their food bill for them, which would've allowed them to save their money for something else. Why would even a scammer turn that down? Ugh. People sometimes.
