There was this asshole in one of my fandoms who styled herself to be this flawless perfect mommy for her daughter (and dear Lord was the way she went about it terrible but that's another matter). One day she started begging for money to hire a lawyer for an upcoming custody trial for her daughter. And at the same time, she kept posting about all the expensive fandom merch she kept buying. I looked up the prices and if she had just stopped buying merch (and commissions depicting her in nsfw situations with her favourite character) she would have had the money she begged others for with no problem. So much for being the perfect mother- couldn't even pause her own selfish needs in favour of getting a lawyer for her custody battle.
